Mats Sundin drops the ceremonial puck
YOU get a concussion, and YOU get a concussion, and YOU get a concussion, EVERYBODY GETS A CONCUSSION!!! And if you’re Montreal, you get Kaberle.
Anyway, some notes today
-Chris Pronger is apparently not suffering from a virus, but actually post concussion symptoms:
“While Chris’ knee is improving, he has struggled with other issues that are concussion-like symptoms,” said Holmgren. “Chris will see Dr. Joe Maroon and Dr. Mickey Collins on Wednesday, Dec. 14th in Pittsburgh for further evaluation. Chris will be out indefinitely.”
…if the name Dr Mickey Collins sounds familiar it is because that’s Sidney Crosby’s head doctor as well. Wish Pronger the best and unfortunate he’ll most likely miss the Winter Classic
~According to CSNNE, Bruins Paille suffered a minor concussion. Julien noted that they’ll take things day to day, but for the time being he’s out.
-Penguins D man, and rookie call up, Bortuzzo has concussion like symptoms
-Montreal traded Jaroslav Spacek who will be a UFA this summer for Tomas Kaberle who signed a 3 year deal with Carolina this summer. Carolina GM Rutherford on signing Kaberle to 3 years this past summer only to trade him in December: “I should’ve known better.”
-LA puts Ethan Moreau on waivers meaning Willie Mitchell may be back tomorrow
From last night Kevin Porter was suspended 4 games for his hit on David Booth, Ville Leino got 1 game for his chicken wing, and Andy Sutton is suspended indefinitely pending in person hearing.
